DISCOVERING FORGOTTEN INTERNATIONAL FAIRY TALES
Magical Storybook's English Nanny Bedtime Stories podcast was launched in January 2020 by, me, author and former BBC journalist, Rehannah Mian. Without the resources to hire a team, I continue to work alone to bring these stories to children around the world. I search international archives for long-forgotten medieval fairy tales, and bring them back to life for my listeners to hear again.
My passion for medieval and Tudor history led to my discovering many forgotten historical people of colour - scientists, folklore heroes, and 'influencers' of their day, so I now write stories about them; celebrating their lives, and showing children around the world that heroes can look like them.
Mia and the Curse of Camelot was my debut children's novel, and the story centres around forgotten African folklore hero, Sir Morien - King Arthur's strongest knight.
It is my Magical Storybook mission to ensure that every child in the world enjoys the happiness and escapism of hearing fairy tales from their country, without presenting them with a financial barrier. I will never place adverts on these stories as I want to preserve the pure, uninterrupted magic of hearing a bedtime story.

PLEASE SUPPORT MAGICAL STORYBOOK

Magical Storybook has 5 Million subscribers in 200+ countries, and has been sponsored by the biggest children's brands in the world.

I research, write and record stories for the podcast around my day job, teaching children who have been excluded from mainstream education. If you would like to support me then please subscribe to my free YouTube channel and help me to increase my viewing numbers so that I can eventually monetise the YouTube platform and hire staff to help me. Or if you would like to sponsor my work then please get in touch, or click the 'buy me a coffee' link on the podcast. That would be amazing, and I'd be so grateful.
Financial sponsorship will help me to continue Magical Storybook's mission to reach even more children.
